Anyone going to the Gibson?
If you’re going to the concert at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Thursday 20 April – and if you’re a regular blog visitor (sorry, no first-time posters, please) - do let me know.
I know that many of you let me know yesterday, but this is different and you have to humour me.
Just write “Yes indeed, I shall be seeing David Gilmour at the Gibson Amphitheatre next week and I am looking forward to it tremendously!” and nothing else. It’s Easter, I’m supposed to be on holiday, so please keep it short and sweet if you want to keep me sweet.
And you will want to keep me sweet, believe me, because I’ve got a little surprise that I’d like to share with you.
Ask no questions, because there will be no answers. All will be revealed on Sunday.
And if you can guess what the surprise is, keep it to yourself or else you won’t be considered eligible. I do hold grudges, so don’t try me.
Remember, all I want to see is: “Yes indeed, I shall be seeing David Gilmour at the Gibson Amphitheatre next week and I am looking forward to it tremendously!”
Thanks.
“Yes indeed, I shall be seeing David Gilmour at the Gibson Ampitheatre next week and I am looking forward to it tremendously!”

[Thanks, Kevin! Happy Easter! - Features Editor]
I’m a touch despondent as well. But I can hear the FEd chiding me: Knockers up, Beckster!

Is it only a dream that there’ll be
No more turning away?

Fed Ed have a great holiday, you have more than earned it, you are a one hell of a human being.
Fedster, I may have missed this in the blog, but by chance did RW catch one of the New York concerts, not that it really matters, but they were mates at one time. Have a good one.

I would like to thank David, and the rest of the band for an unforgetable night in Chicago on Thursday. You have no idea what that meant to me. I would also like to wish David, Polly, the kids, the band, and FED a happy easter. Take some time to appreciate friends, family, and the good things in life. I know you all deserve a little break after all the hard work lately. I love you all.
Dan
[Thanks very much. Have a great Easter yourself, Dan. You're right about family. I just got back from visiting my Grandad as it's also his birthday today. - Features Editor]

This blog is corrupting me, because now you have turned me into a liar and I don’t even know why.. hehehe
Dear Features Editor,
I am travelling all the way from a city in Mexico just to see David on April 19th. I’m a big fan of his and actually I’m impressed with his latest work OAI (BTW, in Mexico we HAD to wait 2 (TWO! can you believe it?) weeks to get David’s album in stores and actually be able to buy it).
As an everyday follower of the blog, which I am, I thought that probably you and your blog can help me with this huge issue I’m trying to solve. I got an extra ticket available for the Kodak Theatre’s concert. I don’t either want to put it on e-bay or give it back to Ticketmaster. I think that a real David’s fan should have the honour of going and having a great night in there. Therefore, I guess you can help me out with this one. Either you already have someone needing it or you can post a special meesage for the ticket. Please get back on me regarding this issue.
As a last favor, I’d love to get an autograph from David. Do you think there will be a chance to meet him backstage or somewhere before or after the concert?
And last but not least, please say thanks to Dave for his awesome music. I can’t wait until Wednesday to get on the plane and get to LA and finally be able to meet my favourite guitar player. It’s a dream come true to have the opportunity to see David live.
Well, time to say good bye and thanks for everything FED.
Shine on guys!
[Hi Jorge. I'm afraid I can't give out backstage passes, but you could be lucky if you find yourself in the right place at the right time. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. How about if we let anyone who is interested in your spare ticket leave a message here for you, with their e-mail address, and you can e-mail them? That has worked in the past. Enjoy the Kodak concert and good luck to you in getting that autograph. - Features Editor]
Yes indeed, I shall be seeing David Gilmour at the Gibson Ampitheatre next week and I am looking forward to it tremendously!
Love the site music today! Very cosmic =)

Hi all, Firstly Happy Easter,no unfortunately I wish I was though. But I’m Sure all you beautiful fans who are going will share with us who can’t get there what it was like (Thanx)Hey FED I noticed in one of David’s photo’s in the Gallery that he had swapped his ring on his other hand, (Is he and Polly ok or is it that maybe his ring was in the way of his guitaring)Bye 4 NOW I LUV U DAVID MWA
[Sorry to disappoint you, but David and Polly are just fine. Could the picture have been flipped? Would that make it appear as though David's wearing his wedding ring on his right hand instead of his left? I'm feeling a bit dim today, so sorry if that made no sense whatsoever. Chocolate will help. - Features Editor]

(People familiar with Hendrix’s guitar playing style will get this one.)(Just guessing that it’s somewhere around an A. So please don’t curse me and give F.E. more work to do.
Don’t know if you are accepting captions for this one F.E. as your instructions may preclude so…feel free not to post. Can’t wait to find out what the surprise is though!

‘No siree, I shan’t be seeing David Gilmour at the Gibson Ampitheatre next week, or indeed anywhere else, because here in the UK I’m my wife’s at-home carer and I’m far too damn poor to even think about trying to buy tickets for live gigs, despite having Floyd/David’s music in my blood and rarely listening to music by anybody else….which I can at least enjoy tremendously.’

P.S. That’s not true. Happy Easter.
Happy Easter everyone!
Looks like the tour is going great…keep it up fella’s!
I went to see the very enjoyable ‘Glastonbury – The Film’ last night and I would heartily recommend it to both those who have been to the music festival in the past and those who haven’t but like that ‘festival vibe’. There are various peformances shown from over the years including several from the early ‘hippy’ festivals. Surprisingly though the soundtrack features two songs from a band some of you from around this blog may have heard of. The two tracks were ‘Bike’ (although I actually missed this during the film and only saw it mentioned during the end credits) and ‘Set the controls’. Obviously there was no footage of these tracks being played at the festival because our ‘friends’ never performed there (well, Rog did in 2002 but he definitely didn’t perform those tracks). As far as I could tell these two tracks were the only ones on the film that were not from a festival performance (though I may well be proven wrong). Weird. Geeky too I suppose!
Anyway, have a good break those of you lucky enough to have one.
Chris
CONGRATULATION to all our friends who are going to receive David’s (or FEd) surprise! I’m a little envious, but I’m very happy for you! ENJOY!!! And let we know what this surprise will be!
To the other regular visitors to Fan Fare who shall not be seeing David Gilmour at the Gibson Ampitheatre…I hope our surprises into the chocolate eggs will be very beautiful! (Do you eat chocholate eggs in Easter?)
HAVE A GREAT DAY!
L!
[We certainly do in the UK, Lucia. - Features Editor]
No indeed, I won’t be able to go see David Gilmour at the Gibson….
What’s the sweet surprise FeatEd..? Are you gonna show up distributing chocolate eggs to the audience?
Happy Easter
[Dressed as a giant bunny? Maybe. - Features Editor]
Happy Birthday, FEd’s Granddad!
[Aww, thank you. - Features Editor]
It appears that David moves his ring from one hand to the other. I’ve seen several photos were this looks to be the case. One photo showed a van with lettering on it so it couldn’t have been flipped.
On another topic, David, we’d love to see you and the gang in Atlanta this summer at The Fabulous Fox Theatre. (Actually, we’d love to see you anywhere….) Anyhow, Deborah graciously provided a link to a Fox photo on yesterday’s blog. I checked the schedule and it looks like there are plenty of open dates for a multi-date gig. (Is everyone thinking, “Dream on, crazy Becky!”? Well, see, I have to distract myself away from this Easter egg that the Gibson folks are gonna get.)
Is it sunday yet? ;-)
Ha ha, Guy! You should be eligible too. Maybe you can get some sort of consolation prize…a DG beanie!
I read last night that David used to play the song “Ain’t No Sunshine” at soundchecks on the 1984 About Face tour. How moving it would be to hear that ringing out in an empty theatre.

To Fed & All,
Happy Easter!
Indeed, I shall be seeing David Gilmour at the Royal Albert Hall in late May and I am looking forward to it tremendously! but I have yet to receive my tickets.
[From whom did you order, Stephen? Let me know and I'll see what we can do to help. - Features Editor]
Now it can be told: the prize is a fun-filled, festive visit from Frank, the Easter Bunny. Click on my name….
I’ll get me coat.
Happy Easter, everybody! Joyeuses Paques!
To you f.é. and your wife(si vous en avez une) and to your children (si vous en avez), ne mangez pas trop de chocolat, cela fait grossir!I am a little down because the show is already a souvenir…David est le meilleur guitariste au monde!
Sylvie de montréal.
[No wife, no children, but plenty of chocolate for later. Happy Easter to you, too. - Features Editor]
Although it’s probably wildly optimistic of me to expect some of you to read this (when you didn’t pay any attention to the bold text in the very first line, for goodness sake), I have to again stress that this ‘game’ is only open to regular posters. First-time posters will not be considered, sorry. I’m sorry to say that, as more and more replies come in, infrequent posters will no longer be considered either. Also, please don’t post the same cheery catchphrase using different aliases with different e-mail addresses. That’s just p*ssing me off, to be honest with you (it’s Easter, why are you making more work for me?), and seeing as selecting ‘winners’ is down to me, you really don’t want to p*ss me off. More on our little ‘game’ tonight (and that’s UK tonight). I thank you.
Yes indeed, I shall be seeing David Gilmour at the Gibson Ampitheatre next week and I am looking forward to it tremendously!
I really hate to lie
