The Blog is the most remarkable part of David’s website; it’s where fans can have their say on a wide variety of topics, not necessarily about David or even music in general.
David reads it, he does not write it. It’s run by a fan, for fans.
The views expressed, therefore, are not necessarily those of David, his management or record company (but often are).
Indeed, certain views are not always popular with David, his management or record company, but if the editor can justify their publication, and if their publication generates positive discussion, they’ll always be welcome.
Disagreement is healthy. Constructive criticism and helpful feedback is never turned away.
Comments are held for moderation and may be edited. However, contrary to what you may have heard, this is for your own good, as well as presentation’s sake. It is not censorship. Obviously, there are things you cannot say (unless you have the desire, time and money to fight lawsuits, that is).
If your comments have been altered, it’s because there were spelling or grammatical mistakes, factual errors, annoying use of text talk (“When R U coming 2…?”) or redundant squiggles, dots and dashes which add absolutely nothing to your intended point.
The Blog is now in its fourth year, has received some 68,000 comments, and, in 2007, was deemed Best Music Blog at the BT Digital Music Awards. The previous year, it was voted second best in the same category at the Weblog Awards. It has not been put forward for any nomination since… due to the editor’s modesty.
